網膜循環における網膜血管内皮細胞の新たな重要性をトロンビンを用いて検討

若手研究(B)
トロンビンは血管外からの投与では収縮反応が起こるが、血管内からの投与では起こらないことが分かった。これは、 トロンビンの分子量は33.6kDaと大きいため、血液網膜関門が1kDa以上の分子量の物質を通さないという過去の報告に裏付けられる。その結果、血管内からの投与では、平滑筋に作用できず、血管収縮反応は起こらないと考えられた。これらの結果から、当初の計画にあった糖尿病網膜症よりも、血液が血管より漏れ、血管外から作用しうる網膜静脈分枝閉塞症(BRVO)の血流データを収集し、BRVOにおける網膜静脈血流低下には血管径の変化が関与していること、また、血管径の変化が最高矯正視力と関与が認められた。
